New Nepal for Nepal (NNFN), a student led organization focused on intellectual and humanitarian involvement, is trying to raise funds for people in Nepal affected by the flash floods on August 26th, 2026. The donated money will go to Himshikhara Socio-Cultural Society (HISCUS), a Kathmandu-based nonprofit founded in 1998 that supports marginalized communities through education, health, economic opportunity, and disaster relief. Along with the donations we hope to spread climate awareness to as many people as possible through our Instagram, research papers, and relevance of our cause. As detrimental consequences of climate is a reality that destroys the livelihood of people and seeps into our daily lives.
HISCUS at flood affected areas.
Our campaign supports students in Nuwakot, Nepal, whose families were hit by severe flooding from the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers. Many lost clothing and belongings, and with winter approaching, children at Ranabhubaneswari Secondary School and Shree Souvenir Boarding School lack uniforms, jackets, and shoes.
Through HISCUS, our funds will help provide school uniforms and winter clothing kits so students can stay warm, healthy, and in school.
When the floodwaters came, families in Nuwakot lost their homes, their belongings, and the clothes their children wore to school. Now winter is coming, and many of those children face the cold with nothing warm to wear. Your gift, whether $10 or $100, can help a child feel warm, seen, and welcome in their classroom again. We’ll share updates from HISCUS so you can see exactly where your generosity went.
Thank you for showing up for the students of Nuwakot, because of you they know they have not been forgotten :)

Note: Donations from the fundraiser will be collected in United States through GoFundMe, then transferred to HISCUS to support the relief activities described above.
Prerana runs an Instagram page, @NewNepalforNepal, that educates people and rallies support for Nepal disaster relief. This fundraiser is Prerana’s way of reaching out a helping hand, and she hopes you will take it with her.
